Invest In Your Library Here are some of the many ways that you can support Virginia Beach Public Library: Annual Giving A donation to the Foundation’s general fund allows us to target funds where the library needs them the most. These contributions will support the annual Summer Reading Challenge and other programs. However, we know that many people want to support specific library services that are near and dear to their hearts. We accept donations for the following services: – Bayside & Special Services Library—donations provide additional resources for customers with visual and physical disabilities. – Central Library Teen Space—The Teen Space at the Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library provides a comforting area for teens filled with activities that they are interested in. In 2017 this space was dedicated to the memory of Saipriya Rangavajhula. – Sadler Early Literacy Endowment—Provides long-term support for VBPL’s early literacy programs, which teach skills that children need in order to learn how to read including phonological awareness and vocabulary. – Wahab Public Law Library—donations support the free legal resources available to the general public, government agency employees, the judiciary, and members of the legal profession. We will be happy to discuss contributions for other specific library services with anyone who is interested in giving. Legacy Giving Leave a lasting legacy for your library. When you leave a legacy gift to the Virginia Beach Library Foundation in your estate plans, you help us support the library and learners of all ages for years to come. Legacy gifts may help build the library’s endowment for the future or they may be directed to one of your passions. You don’t have to be rich to make a difference; anyone can leave a legacy gift of any size. We look forward to working with you to plan a gift that is meaningful to you and your overall plans.
