Why Libraries Matter

Our Work
In FY 2026-2027, we have already granted over $87,500 for VBPL programs and resources, all of which the library could not have afforded with its operating budget alone. Many of the library’s most impactful programs—like summer reading initiatives, technology upgrades, and STEAM kits—are made possible only through donor support, not city funding. The Virginia Beach Library Foundation proudly funds and supports the following impactful programs.
